Quick access does not copy the password to clipboard with 1Password 8

Hello, on MacOS, if I bring up quick access with Command Shift Space, find the entry I want then do Command Shift C to copy the password, what it does instead is copy the userid. Using right arrow and copying the password from the menu works as expected.

Anyone from Agilebits going to comment ? Thanks.

  • Hi @AlienLV426, apologies for the delay.

Can you tell me if you see the text "Primary Copied" or "Secondary Copied" when trying to copy your password? It will appear momentarily after using the copying shortcut and before the Quick Access window fades:

Could I also confirm that using the Command + C shortcut copies the username?

Looking forward to resolving this with you. 👍🏻

Hi Andrew, I cannot see either "Primary Copied" or "Secondary Copied" when copying my passwords. It all fades too fast to make anything out.

Command + C copies the username

  • Hi @AlienLV426,

Thanks for your reply and patience while we troubleshoot. A couple more questions so we can narrow down the cause:

    1. Does ⌘+Shift+C cause the Quick Access window fade like it does when copying a username?
    2. If you create a new Login item and try copying its password via Quick Access, is the outcome the same?
    3. If you try this when no browsers or other apps besides 1Password are running, is the outcome the same?
    4. Do you have any custom keyboard shortcuts that may be conflicting with Quick Access? You can check this in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts

I wasn't able to recreate the behaviour so anything you can provide (special steps you're taking, screenshots of error messages) that might help us get to the bottom of this would be appreciated. 🙂

    Hi Andrew,

I was able to spot a message 'Primary copied' when using ⌘+Shift+C

    1. Yes it does
    2. Yes it is
    3. Yes it is
    4. I do not.
  • Hi @AlienLV426:

In that case, we might need to take a closer look at your specific set up. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac. Please follow the 1Password 7 steps, rather than the 1Password 8 steps:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
