Can not import from SplashID

in 1Password 3 – 7 for Mac

I am running OSX 10.8.4, SplashID 6.2 and 1Password 3.9.6. When I try to import a my SplashID, I get a screen asking me what character encoding I want to use. No matter what I select, it looks like garbage.

    Before we go too far, I want to be sure to cover "step zero". 1Password will not import a regular SplashID data file. You need to export the data from SplashID.

    Can you confirm for me that you exported your data from SplashID to the vID format as indicated in the Import Assistant? (Select File > Export > SplashID vID from the menu bar in SplashID.)
