After installing 1p ver 8 in iphone and ipad (ios) and agree to extension as always remember history ,
Now after login to a website , the 1p display its secure data without any additional security action like finger or face id.
At the previous 1p (ver 7) i needed to use my finger or face id.
I want now to act the same in ver 8.
Please advise.
Thanks.

  • Hello @ronen! 👋

By default 1Password for Safari requires re-authentication every 24 hours but you can certainly decrease that time if you wish:

    1. Open the 1Password app.
    2. Tap on the user icon in the top left corner and then tap on Settings.
    3. Tap on Safari Extension.
    4. Tap on "Require Authorization After"

    Set the desired time.

We've gone with the default time of 24 hours because Apple does a great job on modern iPhones and iPads of requiring the users have a PIN code or Face ID / Touch ID to unlock the device. If your device is locked then no one can unlock it and use 1Password for Safari without first providing your PIN code or unlocking the device using Face ID / Touch ID.

If you'd like you can manually lock the extension after using it by doing the following:

    1. Open Safari on your iOS device.
    2. Tap on the puzzle piece in the address bar.
    3. Tap on 1Password.
    4. Tap on the colourful ring icon.
    5. Tap on Lock 1Password.

The next time that you use 1Password you'll be prompted to authenticate. I hope that helps. 🙂

    Thanks !!!!
    **Prefer the "old" method ...
    Addition security layer. **
    PS. :
As recommend ive installed ver 8 in my iMac.
In my iMac , Do I need ver 7 ? Or can delete it ?
Please see all files regarding 1Password - need to know what to delete.
    Thanks

The 1Password 8 installer places 1Password 7 into the "1Password 7.app.zip" folder in case you need it in the future. If 1Password 8 is working well and you see all of your items in the new app then you can move "1Password 7.app.zip" to the Trash.

You'll want to keep "1Password.app" (this is 1Password 8) and "1Password for Safari.app" (this is the browser extension for Safari).

    I hope that helps. 😊
