Multiple accounts in 1Password 7
As I'm waiting for the App Store-version of 1Password 8, I'm still on version 7. And as mentioned in the thread Log into multiple accounts with one password, I'm fond of the old way of logging in by entering one "master" password that unlocks all vaults.
After installing 1Password 7 on a fresh computer just now, I started by syncing from iCloud. Then I added two online 1Password.com accounts: One for business and one for personal use. Once they were added, I was prompted to move all items from the local vault into my online account. The first issue here was that I was not told which account the items would be moved into. After accepting the move, they were all moved into the wrong account.
Fair enough, it was not too hard to move them from the work account and into my personal account. But when the 1Password app was locked and I tried opening it again, the old iCloud vault password no longer worked. To my surprise, I had to enter – not the simple password of my personal account – but the extremely complex password of my work account.
After this ordeal, I realized the iCloud vault is gone and that I'm now stuck with having to enter the work account password to unlock the app, probably because the work account was the one I added first of the two. I don't find a way to make my private account the default vault or similar. This is a royal PITA because the work password is non-memorable and over 50 characters long.
From the Log into multiple accounts with one password I can see that with version 8 I'm supposed to enter the password of each individual account, but that doesn't seem to be the case for version 7?
So I have to ask: How do I change the password I enter to unlock 1Password 7 when there is no local vault? I can live with having to use the password of my personal online account, but now that my work account seems to be the default and there's no way to change it, I'm stumped. What should I do?

I'm sorry to hear that you ran into issues when migrating an old standalone vault to your account but I'm happy that you were able to move your items to your personal account.
1Password 7 will unlock using the password of the first vault or account added to the app. If you'd like to change which password is used to unlock 1Password 7 then you'll need to remove both accounts from the app and then add the account whose account password you'd like to use to unlock 1Password 7 back to the app first. Then you can add the second account after that. Follow these steps:

You can unlock all accounts added to 1Password 8 at the same time by using the same account password for all of your accounts. You can find more information here: How to use multiple accounts
