Quick Access in 1Password 8 stopped recognising currently running application

HI,

I just upgraded to 1Password 8. Previously (in version 7) the Quick Access when clicked would recognise the currently running application and automatically show the entries that match it via app field (for example, VS Code would be detected as app://com.microsoft.VSCode and ITerm2 as app://com.googlecode.iterm2). This was quite handy with passwords that would be relevant in the terminal or CLI. And now it stopped working.

Is there some setting to enable it back? (I did allow accessibility access already).

Thanks.

I am experiencing exactly same issue. I am connecting/disconnection to VPN which asks for password every time very frequently and this is making the process even more frustrating.
I am really thinging about downgrading back to 1Password 7.

    Hi there @courteouselk and @snilard

1Password 8 now links to apps directly without having to work out the app:// URL scheme for the app. Here's how to link an app to an item:

    1. Open the app in question.
    2. Press ⇧⌘Space (Shift–Command–Space) to bring up Quick Access.
    3. Find the item you need and press ⇧↩ (Shift–Enter) to Autofill it. (It doesn't really matter whether it has anywhere to autofill into, such as a sign-in form, or not.)
    4. On the pop-up that appears, click "Fill & Update Login".

The app will then be linked. In the future, when you bring up Quick Access, that item will be shown first. You can still search for others if you need to.

Give that a try and let me know how you get on. I'll be here if you need further help. :)

For me it did associate the entry with VS Code (thanks, b.t.w.) but autofill does not work. When I press Shift-Enter nothing happens.
