Feature: View attached files in the app

Some services, like Google, allows you to download a text-file with backup-codes for account recovery.

Adding this file to 1Password was easy, but unlike Keepass, I'm required to download it onto my device and to then find it and open it manually.

Please add the possibility to view the contents of text and image files within the 1Password app directly, without having to download the file onto a device where the file will be unsecured and very possibly forgotten to be deleted.

@ag_tommy Well, this feature request is much more general: Let me view basic file attachments directly in the apps, so I don't have to download them first unto insecure devices where I will most likely forget to clean up the downloaded file. I want this regardless of the other one.

Re recovery codes, viewing files in the app would make the viewing of (already) attached files with recovery codes easier, for sure, but wouldn't really help anything in adding them or editing them, or keeping them connected to the otp field. I would still have to create a file locally, copy the codes there, save the file, then attach it in 1Password, and remember to delete the file I just attached.

  • Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Agreed 100% with you on those codes and editing example.
