Why doesn’t 1password work the same every time?

I don’t like having to unlock 1password every time I need to enter a password sometimes I get a box next to the password field that when pressed it autofills the password without unlocking 1password which I like however more often than not the box is not there. What causes this? Attached is a screenshot
