Before this recent update, Touch ID was active and working on my MacBook. Now, just lists Apple Watch.

Is this by desire or a bug? Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

  • Hi there @johnfugh

Is there an update for macOS waiting to be downloaded and/or installed?

Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Sometimes if macOS knows it's not up to date, some security features such as Touch ID can stop working until the update is done. If that doesn't seem to help, try the following:

    1. Restart your Mac, then open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Click the  Apple menu > "System Settings...", then click "Touch ID & Password".
    3. Turn off all of the features, then turn all of them back on.
    4. In 1Password, click the 1Password menu > "Settings...".
    5. On the Security tab, turn off the Touch ID setting and turn it back on again.
    6. Click the 1Password menu > Lock.

ℹ️ If you're not running macOS Ventura, you'll see "System Preferences" in the  Apple menu instead.

After trying that, if you're still having trouble, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

⚠️ Don't post your diagnostics report here.

    With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

I look forward to hearing how you get on. :)
