categories not showing in sidebar

Hi, I did try to search for related threads, but many of those are now closed or slightly different.

In 1Password Mac desktop, 8.9.13, my sidebar looks like below with no ability to view the Categories. However if I use the top search bar to search for say 'credit', then click on the Credit Cards option -- then I do see a single entry Categories show up in the sidebar with the Credit Cards category. No other categories are visible. As soon as I go to any other type of item or All Items, then the Category entry in the sidebar once again disappears.

Hi @wjcroft

You can turn on Categories in the sidebar by following these steps:

1. Open and unlock 1Password.
2. Click the 1Password menu (next to the  Apple menu) > Settings...
3. On the Appearance tab, turn on Categories, as shown below.

It can play hide and seek at times. I may have overlooked it a few (several) times myself in the beginning. 😊
