on new M2 Mac keeps Intel Version - can't upgrade to Apple Silicon Version

Just moved from an Intel i7 Mac to a new M2 Mac via TimeMachine.
Hat 1PW 8 before.

Went to 1PW Website to download the AppleSilicon Version. Still in Intel Version
• Is this the way it is?
• How do I get the (fast) Apple Silicon Version?

Yes I do indeed enjoy the M2 MBP 16" - coming from a 2013 MBP retina the speed is insane…
1 Password is a great app! Keep up the good work!

  • @Georg

I'm happy to hear that the steps worked. I hope that you enjoy your new M2 Mac! 🎉

Thanks a million for your tutorial - it worked very well!
It's all "Apple" now and no more "intel" and I am very happy!
    :-)

  • Hello @Georg! 👋

If you restored your Intel Mac onto your new M2 Mac using Time Machine then you would have restored the Intel build of the 1Password app as well. You can install the Apple Silicon build by following these steps:

    1. Quit all open web browsers.
    2. Open the main 1Password app. Right-click on the 1Password menubar icon and then click Quit.
    3. Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not use an "app cleaner" or "uninstaller" tool to remove the app or additional files. If prompted, enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.
    4. Restart your Mac.
    5. Download the latest version of 1Password from the 1Password website.
    6. Quit any open web browsers and then install 1Password.
    7. Open and unlock 1Password before opening your web browser.

Let me know if you run into any issues. 🙂
