New password change. Edge Extension not updating

Updated the password in 1Password Mac app. Checked online, update is there.

Old password is still there in MS Edge Browser extension.

I also have a shared Vault with my wife. When she updates her Vault with a new password, it's also not reflected in my browser extension.

Coming from LastPass which has a "manual refresh" in the browser extension which forces sync.

Workaround: lock 1P Edge Extension. Then unlock (basically login again, which forces a fetch I think).

Workaround will fix update both use cases:

  • me updating password in 1P Mac App. Lock Edge Extension. Login again. Password updated.

OR

  • Wife update password in Shared Vault. I lock Edge Extension. Login again. Password updated.

Mac OSX: 12.6.2 (21G320)
Edge: Version 109.0.1518.52 (Official build) (x86_64)
Edge 1Password Extension: v2.6.0

Similar to this thread for Safari extension: https://1password.community/discussion/133299/safari-extension-not-updating-syncing-after-edits-in-desktop-app-v-8-8-0

  • Hey @johnathanz,

I'm sorry for the trouble you are having with 1Password in your browser syncing with changes you have made in the app. I think it would be useful if we could take a closer look at some logs and what may be going wrong.

I'd like to ask you to send over a console log from your browser as well as a diagnostics report:

Please attach the reports to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com with a link to this thread.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Hi Steph

Thanks for the reply. I've been tweaking some of the 1P security settings.

I suspect what was happening is 1P default security setting was timing out the browser extension. So updates to the 1P website is not reflected in the browser extension.

So now I have it set to timeout in 8 hours, and no longer noticing the issue.

    Thanks
    Johnathan
