Password suggestion for new accounts not working
Hi, I just signed as a new member and imported all Safari Keychain passwords - all went fine. Couple of questions:
- Should I continue using Keychain while 1password is running on my Mac ? Any pros and cons?
- When creating new accounts, I expected 1password to ask to fill-in a new tough password - just as keychain does. That is not happening. Keychain is still asking if I want to use tough password - if I say yes, I have to manually go in and add the account/password info. to 1password.
Thanks for the help

Hello @Serv! 👋
Welcome to 1Password! I don't recommend that you continue to use Keychain alongside 1Password, that will only result in confusion and you potentially accidentally saving items in two different places. As a start please try the following:
- Disable Keychain in Safari: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser
- Install and setup 1Password for Safari: 1Password for Safari on the Mac App Store
Then try to fill a password again: Use a suggested password
Let me know how that goes. 🙂

Hi Dave, under settings there was no option to make 1password the default pw mgr. But I disabled keychain in iCloud settings and 1password seems to be suggesting passwords now when creating new accounts. So all good for now. Thanks.
Will be helping my wife and daughters set it up on their devices this Weekend. Any links or steps for other family members to start using the family plan?

Hi @Serv,
On behalf of Dave, you're very welcome! To get set up with family members, I recommend starting here: Get started with 1Password Families
That guide will have links to lots of other information, including some specific to certain devices. I'll share a couple here in case you want to skip to those:
Don't hesitate to post here if you have any questions along the way though, we'll be happy to help. 🙂
