How do I stay permanently signed in to 1Password, or only sign in once each day?

I'm asked to sign in when I am inactive for a short period of time. How do I alter the period of time during which I remain signed in to my vault even if I am not actively using 1Password?

  • Hi there @Marco1254

You can change the auto-lock timer in the 1Password app by following these steps:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Click the 🔽 down arrow at the top of the sidebar, then Settings...
    3. On the Security tab:
    • turn the "Lock on sleep, screensaver, or switching users" setting on or off to your preference
    • set the "Lock after the computer is idle for" to the time of your choice, or Never.

You may also want to turn on "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" in the General section of Settings, so that if you quit it by mistake, it won't lock automatically. You would have to fully quit 1Password by right-clicking it in the menu bar and choosing Quit to have it lock automatically in that case.

    Hope that helps! :)

Thank you. I'm now able to manage my account.

  • I'm happy that Grey was able to help. 🙂
