Error on startup: There is no application set to open the URL x-onepassword4://quit

Starting up the machine I get this error every time.
There is no application set to open the URL x-onepassword4://quit

Even pointing it to open 1pw v8, I still get the same fail.
I use firefox. Uninstalled and reinstalled the FF plugin.
I even installed the Safari plugin, thinking that might help.

Mac latest, FF latest, 1pass latest (not beta).

How do I fix this ?

  • Hello @sknaffla! 👋

I'm sorry that you're receiving an error message when you start your Mac. It's possible that you have a remnant of an older version of 1Password still installed on your Mac. So that I can investigate further, I'd like to ask for a diagnostics report:

    1. Get the 1Password troubleshooting utility. The download is a .zip file. If it’s not automatically uncompressed, double-click it to uncompress it.
    2. Double-click the 1PasswordTroubleshooting app.
    3. Click Open when asked if you’re sure you want to open it.
    4. Click Create Report. It may take a moment.
    5. Click Show Report in Finder.
    6. Attach the 1PasswordDiagnostics .zip file directly to your reply.

Attach the 1PasswordDiagnostics .zip file to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

The report will be in zip format. Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
