1Password Firefox extension and 1Password app on iMac not syncing, are they supposed to?

Noticing the need to edit either the Firefox extension or 1Password on iMac when making new entries. If I make a new entry on the iMac app, it needs to be duplicated on the extension, and vice versa (new entry with Firefox extension needs to be duplicated on iMac app). I switch between Safari, Firefox and Chrome browsers
