Simple export doesn't work
I am trying to do a simple export from 1password but neither method seems to apply. "Click [three dots] at the top of the sidebar, choose Export, and select the account you want to export." There are no dots and no Export option. The second method "Select the items you want to export. Select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl key when clicking on them. Select all the items by pressing Ctrl + A after clicking one of the items in the list." Also doesn't work as Ctrl+A doesn't select everything and then there is still no export option.

Hi @ATabarrok, thanks for reaching out! The option to export is only available in the 1Password desktop apps, and I'll include some more detailed steps below that should help:
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and click 1Password near the top of the list.
- If you don't see 1Password listed here, you don't have the app installed. Download and install it from the following link, then try again: Download 1Password 8 for Windows
- Enter your usual credentials to unlock if prompted.
- In the top left corner of the app window, next to the word 1Password, click ⋮ > Export, and choose the account you want to export.
- Enter your account password.
- Choose an export format (1PUX or CSV) then click Export Data.
- Choose a location for your export file, and click Open.
It's important to note that exported data files are not encrypted, they are stored in plain text. Anyone with access to your exported data files will be able to read your passwords. Do not email exported data files or store them online, and delete them as soon as you're done with them.
I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions, let me know!

@1P_Gem, your instructions got me past a frustrating snag! To export, where is "FILE"?! It's not on the browser web site for 1P, it's not on my Android 1P. You reminded me of my Desktop 1P app. That REALLY needs to be clarified in all your documentation.
I, too, need to have a way to Export only certain tagged items. I just upgraded to Family Plan so that I could segregate Members data, only to discover that I must Export the the entire vault to CSV, sort by Tag column, hide a few hundred rows, leaving me with the Tagged items I needed. Not pretty.
Since granularity of data is one of the (implied) features of the Family plan, I would think that the ability to export by Tag would be a top-priority feature. Wonder what I'll discover as I plan on moving many tagged items into the new Member's vault.

Hello @TNSteve,
Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that Gem's reply helped remind you that exporting can be completed from the desktop app.
I've recently received some related feedback from another customer and as a result, the follow guide has been updated to help clarify this:
I understand your feedback about the need to export items in a more limited way, rather than the entire account. I'll pass your feedback along to the Product team for consideration.
In the meantime, after family member accounts are created and signed in to, you could move their items to a shared vault, which they can then move to their own personal vaults on their own devices. Would this work?
If you have any other questions or suggestions, please let us know!
