Feature request - "Copy username and open" instead of just "Open"
I don't like to use the browser extension and rather copy the username and password manually by clicking on the entry in 1Password whenever I need them. I guess, I'm not the only 1Password user doing it this way.
This means, whenever I use a saved website link within 1Password to open a login page, I need to switch back to 1Password twice:
Open > Cmd+Tab > Click on username > Cmd+Tab > Cmd+V > Cmd+Tab > Click on password > Cmd+Tab > Cmd+V
IMO, it would be very helpful if there were an option to set all my links (or maybe just a few of them) to "Copy username and open" instead of just "Open" as it would significantly speed up the process:
Copy username and open > Cmd+V > Cmd+Tab > Click on password > Cmd+Tab > Cmd+V.

Hello @rpaulson! 👋
Have you looked at using Universal Autofill to fill your username and password? You don't need to install the extension, the 1Password app can fill right into browsers and other apps all by itself: Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac
This saves you from having to copy and paste all the time. Let me know what you think. 🙂

Hello @Dave_1P. Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, I know the Autofill feature (Shift+Cmd+Space) and I already use it as well. But sometimes I still like to navigate through my accounts and click a link to an account's login page from with the 1Password app, and in this moment it would come in very handy if the account name would automatically be copied to the clipboard. Besides, this feature wouldn't conflict with the Universal Autofill, would it?

You can fill a login using Universal Autofill using a single command: Command-Backslash ( \ )
I would be happy to pass along your request for the feature that you described but can you tell me more about why you would want to copy and paste the username when you can just fill the username and password using the same number of key presses as copy and pasting?

@Dave_1P Thx for your help. I was using the Quick Access shortcut besides copying usernames and passwords manually, but sometimes I didn't feel comfortable that 1Password not only filled out the input fields automatically but also fired off the submit button. Your hint to the Autofill shortcut (I had to change it in the settings because I don't use an English keyboard) made me aware of the "Submit Automatically with Universal Autofill" option. Now I like the Autofill option even better.
And I agree with you, the only good reason for my feature request, I can still think of, is to improve the workflow for people who prefer to stick to manually pasting usernames and passwords to limit 1Password's access rights to the OS, otherwise it's easier to use the Autofill feature.

I'm happy to hear that you're finding the Universal AutoFill feature useful.
Regarding an option to copy a username automatically to the clipboard after opening a website from inside of 1Password, I've passed along your suggestions and comments to our product team for them to consider for the future. Thank you for the feedback! 🙂
