How to turn off the inline filling menu on iOS
Hi,
Hoping someone out there can help me with an issue/suggestion.
On iOS/Safari using 1Password, there appears to be two options to choose from when filling in the password. The first is when using 1Password and the Safari Extension and the other is using the Autofill Feature in iOS that uses 1Password. A screenshot of the "issue" is below.
What I would like to achieve is not having the 1Password Browser Icon/Tab/Selection Button and only use the Autofill Feature in iOS that uses 1Password.
With the above, I know that you can remove the 1Password exertion for Safari, but with the new macOS & iOS features in Safari you can have the extensions sync across all your devices, which is a feature I use and one that I find very handy as I don't have to worry about extensions on the various iOS Devices I have.
A similar issue/suggestion is with the Safari Extension for macOS. I would like to remove the button you can click on in the username/password field and rather use the extension itself to fill in the information.
Any ideas on how to achieve the above would be most welcome, thank you.
1Password Version: 8.10.4
Extension Version: 2.10.0
OS Version: macOS 13.3.1

Hello @wrwatk! 👋
Thank you for the question! On your Mac, you can disable the inline filling menu by following these steps:
- Open your browser.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in the browser and click Settings.
- Click Autofill.
- Turn off "Offer to fill and save passwords".
The iOS/iPadOS version of the browser extension doesn't currently include the same setting so that only way to disable the inline menu is to disable the extension entirely. That being said, I've filed a feature request on your behalf to look into adding this setting to the iOS/iPadOS version in the future.
Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

I definitely understand the frustration and the team is aware of the need that you and others have communicated for such a feature on iOS. We tend not to pre-announce new features and changes to avoid disappointing folks if a feature is cancelled or delayed. All I can say for now is that I recommend that you keep an eye on our release notes: 1Password Releases 😉
