Your Secret Key or password was recently changed
I am suddenly getting the "Your Secret Key or password was recently changed" message, but I did not change my secret key or password to my knowledge. I have not received any email messages or information. I am unable to log in to 1password via the Mac application or via the browser. Is there some kind of server issue at the moment, has my account been compromised, or is there some other explanation?
It seems some other members of the forum are commenting a similar issue as well?
If a secret key or password was changed, presumably there should be an email notificaiton to go with it? If there is a server issue, should there not be a better error to avoid concern? Would appreciate knowing what's going on!

Hello @Mire! 👋
I'm sorry for the alarm. Yesterday, our Operations team conducted scheduled maintenance on the 1Password servers and some users received a message in the 1Password app indicating that an account password or Secret Key was changed. This appears to have been an unintended side effect of the maintenance. Ignore this message – neither your account password nor your Secret Key has been changed. Now that the maintenance is complete you should be able to sign in as usual.

The team is investigating the situation so that we can avoid it in the future. I'm sorry again for the scare and inconvenience.

If you're still seeing a similar message then it's likely not related to the incident back in April and we'll need to investigate further why you're seeing that message on your device. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to
support+forum@1password.com
.With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/687825/#Comment_687825
- Your forum username:

- Please do not post your diagnostic report to the forum. This is for your privacy and security.
The report will be in zip format. Please send the entire file.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
