Watchtower score inconsistent between platforms.

One would assume that you were using the same criteria to create the Watchtower score, but I am 56 points different between mobile and desktop. What gives? Both Mac Desktop and Android are on version 8.10.4

  • Hello @NeedmoreCoffee! 👋

The Watchtower score is calculated per-device and it doesn’t sync between your devices. Certain per-device settings (such as whether you have automatic updates turned on for the 1Password app on a device) may also change your score on one device but not others.

The score is calculated using the account or collection that you're viewing at the moment, are you viewing the exact same collection on all of your devices? Do you see different suggestions regarding weak or reused passwords, or inactive two-factor authentication, from Watchtower on different devices? Or are these suggestions the same on all devices?

Settings between both devices are the same. 2FA are set on each. When reviewing the Watchtower items each metric that we're shown we're identical. When reviewing where on the say all things, all categories selected on both.

Thank you for the reply. Since the Watchtower score is calculated per-device, it's normal to see the score differ on different devices and that isn't a sign that anything is wrong. Here are some settings to check which will affect the score on each individual device:

    1. Is the “Check for vulnerable passwords” setting enabled/disabled on all of your devices?
    2. Are automatic updates enabled for the 1Password app on your desktop?
    3. Is Shared Lock State (“Connect with 1Password in the browser”) enabled in the 1Password app on your desktop?
