I tried to use the ç in my password of 1password, but it has a bug, just works when I reveal the password and type 🤦

This happens in the Chrome extension too

I'm using the U.S. International keyboard

I recorded my screen to reproduce this bug.

  • Hi there @luciotbc

We recommend using only ASCII characters in your account password, from the set below, for this exact reason.

    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
    0123456789
space (entered using the Space bar)
    !"#$%&'()*+,-./\:;?@[]^_`{|}~

This is because different devices, operating systems, and input methods can all vary in how they interpret åçčéñṱêḍ characters, for example, as you've seen. There's more information about that in this article:

Should I use special characters in my 1Password account password?

Looking at your screen recording, you had to use two keystrokes to compose the ç character, rather than a single keystroke, or a single keystroke while holding ⇧ Shift.

For maximum compatibility, I'd suggest changing your account password so that it only uses ASCII characters: How to change your 1Password account password.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help. :)

    Interesting, I got the point.
Although it is clear when I defined my password, I am not convinced.

    Thanks :)
