8.0 installer (mac) stuck on moving data step for 20 min. No way should it take that long.

OS 11.7.6 - finally started upgrade to 1P 8 and now the installer has been stuck saying "Waiting for data to be moved, Do not quit this app." for at least 20 minutes. There is no way I have that much data. What should I do?

    I'm sorry that the installer for 1Password 8 isn't moving forward. You may be running into a known issue involving standalone vaults during the upgrade to 1Password 8. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Quit the 1Password 8 installer.
    2. Open and unlock 1Password 7.
    3. Confirm that you can see your items.
    4. Leave 1Password 7's main window open.
    5. Run the 1Password 8 installer again while 1Password 7 is open.

    If you run into the same error message again after following these steps, can you tell me the following:

    1. Do you see all of your items when you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?
    2. Do you see an older standalone vault named “Primary” when you open and unlock 1Password 7?
