Search while in the Main 1Password window no longer displays only the matches
This morning I got an update to 1P that failed with the message: 1Password was unable to complete the installation and will roll back any changes.
Now I just noticed that in the Main windows when I search for something, it finds the first one but it is now showing all items (with the found item selected) and not filtering only the matches. I have no idea if the two issues are connected.
The Firefox Browser is working normally.
1Password Version: 8.10.8

I'm on 8.10.8 Production channel. No error messages at this time. I'm all set for now. If I encounter the error when I install the next update, I will definitely try your solution then. Thank you for your attention to detail.

DoctorBrown - Happy to help to help!
From your comments about the installation errors, can you confirm that you are no longer seeing these messages? If you are using the Production release, the latest version of 1Password for Windows currently is
8.10.8-47, and the beta is`8.10.9-12: Find the version numbers for 1PasswordIf you're all set but run in to troubles again in the future, try excluding the

Thank you for that clarification about the search feature and when it was released.
I didn't try safe mode because, in-spite of the error, the program seems to have installed correctly and is running with no apparent issues. (could I be mistaken?) - ag_mike_d

Hello again DoctorBrown!
Thanks for getting back to me with your kind words. We're happy to be able provide multiple avenues to support our customers, including the 1Password Support Community!
Regarding the Web Root installation, did safe mode do the trick? If so and to help prevent future issues with updates, we suggest excluding the

No problem about the delay. I'm very appreciative that you have this forum and respond as well as you do.
I see about the anti-virus. Yes I have Web Root as my internet security. The reason I reported this is because it is a change in behavior. One of the two apps (or both) seems to have changed.
About the search. I now see that the sorted items are appearing in a drop down and when you select one of the items in the drop down, that is the item displayed. And, yes, with (ctrl+enter) only the filtered items are displayed. Again this is an unanticipated change in behavior.
I may be wrong, but I guess this is the Agile Development style in action. I've never been a fan of that because of the constant change in behavior from one month to the next. I was an old school software developer and I prefer major updates, say once a year at most (except for bug fixes). Then user's expect major changes in functionality and they are documented.
I'm pretty good, but how is a user to figure out that a command like (ctrl+Enter) even or now existed? Almost nobody reads the release notes, I suspect. - ag_mike_d

Hello DoctorBrown,
Thanks for your message and sorry the delay in response.
Regarding the update to the 1Password for Windows app, this is a common issue customers encounter when something such as security software is locking down the 1Password folder. Do you use any antivirus or anti-malware software on your device? If you try restarting Windows in Safe Mode with Networking Enabled and then try updating 1Password again, does the installation complete?
With regard to the search functionality, it sounds like you are referring to the desktop app. Based on the search string used should there be multiple entries in the dropdown? If you try searching to Show all matching items (
Ctrl + Enter), does this help?Search in the 1Password app to find what you need
