Require Password every week please!

Please can we have a shorter timeout for "Require password" when using Touch ID? 2 weeks is too long, I often forget my complex password in the interim and it takes several attempts to get it right. There is a serious risk here of people storing their master passwords in an insecure, accessible form because of the risk of forgetting, when with more prompting, this would not be required.

Please could we have an option to require password every week? 1 day would be too frequent (and too risky for observation), but 1 week would be ideal. Or even better, just make it totally configurable in terms of number of days!

  • Hello @af101! 👋

Thank you for the suggestion! At the moment, when using Touch ID unlock, you can choose to have 1Password prompt you for your account password in the following intervals: 2 Weeks, 30 Days, or Never.

I generally recommend that you choose the 2 Weeks option since that seems to be a sweet spot in regards to convenience while also training your brain to remember your account password. If you're finding it difficult to memorize your current password then we have a guide on how to choose a more memorable and secure password: How to choose a good 1Password account password

That being said, I can see how adding more options (including a 1 Week option) would be useful and I've passed along your feedback to the team. 🙂
