Recently I've noticed in the Windows app a cloud with a line through it (which to most people would mean your off-line but I'm not). Why would it show this way when I'm online? Because when I am online I'm hoping I don't have to do anything to keep all of the information synchronized. Shouldn't it automatically do that? Possibly related to this icon is the fact that for some reason it shows that I have one off-line item. Don't know what this means either.

It is my understanding that if 1Password says it's offline, it's actually because it cannot reach the cloud sync servers via network. Your PC doesn't need to be disconnected from the internet to be unable to reach some internet server. There could be many other reasons, most being misconfiguration on the local PC. Security software often interferes, bad name server resolution settings, having both wlan and lan active at the same time, or using a vpn can cause this as well.

So if 1Password is complaining it's offline but you are able to access some internet service and assume you're not offline, you might check everything on the local PC you used to modify network access in some way from the default.

    Hello @OneMrEd,

Thanks for your message and sorry for the troubles with offline items. The latest update (8.10.8) made it possible for the app to display any specific items that have been unable to sync to the server.

So that we can help look into this further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    • A link to this thread: https://1password.community/discussion/141201/how-do-i-remove-delete-an-offline-item
    • Your forum username: OneMrEd

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks!

Update: I came across a second thread here referring to the same topic and merged the two to keep everything tidy.

I was able to remove the offline item by logging completely out of 1password

  • Hi @OneMrEd,

We appreciate your reply! I'm happy to hear you were able to remove the offline item.

For others reading this, I'd recommend sending in a diagnostics report. This will help us to confirm why you're running in to offline items, report this to our Development team and provide the next best steps to handle those items.

Should anyone need to contact us to share a diagnostics report, we can be reached at support+forum@1password.com. Thanks!
