I would like to see an index of starting characters along side the list of logins similar to what Apple does in Contacts in IOS. This way one can quickly advance to the general area of a particular login. Today one has to scroll down the entire list to find a login.

1Password Version: 8.10.8
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: MacOS 13.4.1
Browser: safari

  • Hi there @yardy

If you tap the ↓≡ Sort Options at the top of the list, then choose Title, you'll see an alphabetical thumb-index on the right-hand side like this:

If it's sorted by something like Date Modified, you won't see that index. Give that a try and let me know how you get on. I'll be here if you need further help. :)

Hi Grey, Thanks for the response, however when I try it this does not work! I attach a screen shot. I am using 1Password ver 8.10.8 with Safari on MacOS 13.4.1

The sorting by character option is specific to iOS. If I recall correctly, this is an Apple feature we make use of. I would be happy to file a feature request on your part. That said, I am not sure this specific item would be available on macOS. I seem to remember a discussion back in the day, and it is an iOS-only ability. It has been so long that I might be off on this. If we were to add something like was present based on the previous version of 1Password, would that work too? That being, select any item in the center column and press the A key; your selection would jump you to the A's and so forth. I'm not sure how much of a lift this would be for the development team, but I thought if we can give them options, maybe we'll get one fulfilled. :) Back in the day I would use the second option a lot, and I miss it. So it's fresh on my mind.

Let me know your thoughts, and I can get it before the product team. I can't make any promises, but I'll try to suggest this. I find myself scrolling so much with ~2000 entries. It or something along these lines would be most welcome. I think you'll feel much the same way. I can certainly file both so it never hurts to ask.

ag_tommy, Thank you for your response and the suggested search method which works well. Seems to me this is sufficient to meet my desires without pushing my original request to the development team. Maybe you could update the 'Help Files' to describe (or better describe) this search method to make it more prominent as I did not find it in my scans of the help files. Again thanks for the response

Wow, I tried this earlier during my reply and it did not work, hence my mentioning it. Looks like it does now or maybe this user (me) was having an off moment at the time. Haha Thanks for nudging me to go back and test again. I see it is working as designed. Appreciate the follow-up @yardy
