Cannot run 1password from ~/Applications?
I've seen this mentioned a few times but did not find a solution. My university does not give us admin access so applications must be run from ~/Applications. Why does 1Password throw a fit when no other application does so? Are there any suggested fixes? Helpdesk said as it is not a supported application, there is nothing they can do.

Hello @scooby2! 👋
Thanks for the question. On the Mac, 1Password must be installed in
/Applications
. If 1Password was to be installed in another location some of the integration and security features we rely upon, specifically our use of sandboxing and verifying code signatures, won't work.If you're unable to install the 1Password desktop app due to the policies of your university, then you can still access 1Password using either the website or browser extension:
- Get to know 1Password in your browser
- Log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com
I hope that helps!
