Treat any nested tags under the '2FA' tag the same way the '2FA' tag is handled

I understand that in order to bypass the Watchtower warning, you can add a '2FA' tag to an item to signal to 1Password that 2FA is handled outside of 1Password's TOTP storage feature.

Can I request that if you create a nested tag under the '2FA' tag, it be treated the same way?
For example, I record how my item's 2FA is handled using nested tags.

  • 2FA/FIDO2/Key 1
  • 2FA/TOTP/Aegis
  • 2FA/SMS/0123456789

Right now I just add the '2FA' tag manually as well as the above tags, but I think it would be relatively simple to match on any tag that has '2FA' as the top-level tag hence the request. (i.e. regex match 2FA\/*)

  • Hello @ajh0912! 👋

Thanks for the suggestion, I've passed it along to the team. With 1Password 8, you no longer need to add a 2FA tag to items in order to suppress Watchtower's two-factor authentication warning. Instead, you can add your desired tag to the item and then click Ignore in the banner above the item:

This will prevent you from having to add the 2FA tag in addition to the tag that you actually want to use for that item.
