1Password offers PayPal in the Venmo app

When trying to fill in password for the Venmo app, 1password offers to fill PayPal instead:

If I click the key icon, I then see the Venmo offering and I can click that and it will fill in.

    Hello @steve28! 👋

    I'm sorry that you're seeing the wrong item suggested by iOS AutoFill when filling into the Venmo app. On the iPhone AutoFill is specifically handled by iOS and 1Password only provides the data for the experience.

    So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me if either of the following is true:

    • In your Login item for Venmo, you have the Paypal website added.
    • In your Login item for Paypal, you have the Venmo website added.

    Dave,

    Not really sure what you're asking... I have an entry in 1Password for both venmo.com and paypal.com. I can use each of those ok to log into their respective sites using a browser. However, when I open the Venmo App on the iPhone, at the login prompt, the suggest fill-in info is "for www.paypal.com"

    At this point:

    • If I try select "for www.paypal.com" it fills in the information for paypal, which of course fails.
    • If I select the key icon, 1Password then shows me the proper Venmo.com as an option, and selecting it fills in the correct info.

    I only have 1Password checked in the iPhone settings as the password manager. So it sounds as if even though 1P gives iOS the information about which sites it has passwords for, iOS is picking the incorrect one? And it's only when I (using the key icon) directly ask 1P myself that I get the correct login.

    I'm sorry for the confusion. If you open the main 1Password app from your iPhone's home screen (not from inside of the PayPal or Venmo app) and find and open your saved Login item for Venmo then do you only see https://www.venmo.com in the website field for that Login Item?

    Same with the PayPal item, do you only see https://www.paypal.com in the Login item for PayPal? I'm trying to see if you might have accidentally saved the wrong website address in the wrong item.

    Let me know if both items have the correct website address saved and we can go from there. 🙂

    Ah thank you. Yes both entries have only their respective sites listed. That is, PayPal has ONLY "https://www.paypal.com" and Venmo has only "https://www.venmo.com"
