Weird date field behavior
I recently had to add a new credit card to 1PW and found the behavior of date fields to be quite buggy. Specifically, you can't remove data from them. If you enter data in one of these fields (either Date or Month/Year), and either backspace over it, or highlight and delete, some amount of the data remains after you leave the field. It's also odd how the fields seem to behave like multiple fields: you can't just enter say 10/2024 you have to enter 10, tab then 2024. Overall these fields just feel quite wonky.

Hello @sifutommy! 👋
I'm sorry that editing credit cards items isn't working as intended. The inability to remove credit card dates once they've been added is a known issue and I've added your report to the work item that our developers have open.
For the time being, as a temporarily workaround, you can remove the field by editing the item after logging in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)

I believe that this is done to help avoid typos. Would you prefer that the date field in credit card items worked like the date field in other items with a calendar picker? Let me know and I can pass along your feedback to the team. 🙂

That might be easier. I liken it to those phone number fields you see (not in 1PW) where there is a greyed out formatting hint like
(xxx) xxx-xxxx
. The nice ones allow you to just type a sequence of numbers in and it applies that formatting for you. The not nice ones require you to enter the parens/dashes yourself. The way 1PW does it would require you to actually tab through the individual parts.0 -
Thank you for the suggestion and for those addition details. I've passed your feedback along to the team internally. 🙂

I also ran into the editing issue and came here to find the existing reports and workaround. Just a quick note to let you know that someone else struggled with it....
I'm using 1Password for Mac 8.10.20 (81020036).

I'm sorry for the frustration, I've passed along your experience to the team. If you didn't already see my note above, you can edit the field using 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app).
