How do you move a Passkey from one login item on 1Password for Mac to another?

The reason is that I have two logins saved for Microsoft.com. One has my 2FA one time password set up in it, while the other has my Passkey.

I'd like to be able to merge them both into one login entry. I understand that 1Password does not have a merge duplicates function, so it has to be done manually. However, as the Passkey is not visible or editable, I don't know how you can migrate it into a different login item record in 1P.

1Password Version: 8.10.16

OS Version: MacOS 14

  • Hello @Dan Warne! 👋

Thanks for the question. It’s not possible to move a passkey from one Login item to another. If you’ve saved a passkey in the wrong item in 1Password, the passkey should be removed from the account and the Login item. You can do so by following these steps:

    1. Sign into the account in question.
    2. Delete the passkey created in the account’s security settings.
    3. Delete the passkey saved in the incorrect Login item in 1Password.
    4. Create a new passkey in the account’s security settings and use 1Password to save it to the correct Login item.

    I hope that helps!
