Safari Extension 2.16.0 "Open in New Window" shortcut doesn't work

When I have an item selected in the Safari Browser Extension (v2.16.0) and use the published shortcut of command-O (which has been the standard shortcut for years), nothing happens and instead triggers Safari's own "Open" command.

When I tested the shortcut using the Brave Browser Extension (v2.16.0), the shortcut opens the full 1Password app, but not to the item it was focused on in the browser extension. It just...opens the full 1Password app.

Is this a known issue?

  • Hey @courtneyanne,

Thank you for reporting this. Our team are aware of the conflict with the CMD-O shortcut in Safari and are investigating ways in which we can improve this in a future update.

For the meantime, to open an item in a new window in Safari you can select it from the menu in the top right hand corner of the item.

Apologies for the disruption, let us know if there is anything else we can help with in the meantime.
