Sonoma 14 iMac constant fan and overheating
Hi.
iMac constant fan and overheating after upgrading to macOS Sonoma .
My only 3rd Party Apps are 1Password and 1Password Safari extension.
Does 1Password (Working in background) can cause overheating ?
As this software is the only one that I've added to macOS. ?
Just a question ...
Thanks.
1Password Version: 1Password for Mac 8.10.20 (81020036)
Extension Version: 2.17.1
OS Version: Sonoma 14.1.1
Browser: safari

Hello @ronen! 👋
I'm sorry that your Mac is running into performance issues. I'm not seeing reports of the same issue from others nor am I see any overheating on my personal or work Macs and they have a lot of apps installed alongside 1Password.
Do you still experience overheating when you do the following:
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in the menu bar.
- Click Quit.
This will close 1Password completely and will give us a clue if the issue persists even if 1Password is closed.

Thanks for your reply.
Will it also close the 1P Safari extension?0 -
1Password for Safari is separate from the desktop app. You can temporarily turn it off in Safari's settings:
- Open Safari.
- Click on Safari next to the in the menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Click Extensions.
- Turn off 1Password for Safari.
Is there anything in particular that makes you suspect that 1Password is the cause of the performance/heating issues?

Hi Again. Is the latest update regards my issue ?
Thanks.0 -
Hi. I'm not an expert. I can only say that until today the iMac's Fans are working hard , The iMac's back is hot. Can't tell now if it is related to 1Password (always working in the background (1P and WhatsApp) only. If you updated today you probably know why ....
