Copy & Paste Password Bug on MacOS and Mac App
This may be a MacOS issue and not related to 1P at all. However, it can affect users in a negative way. The fake PW below is in a Login entry in the password field. Hover over and click copy. Looks good so far. But if you paste anywhere, everything up to and including the # symbol is lost and the pasted value starts with the 64... BUT...if I manually select and copy the password, then I can paste the entire value to its intended target. So the hover and then copy in 1P is not reliable if the password contains symbols? What is going on? This is the Mac app and not browser related.
1P v8.10.18
MacOS Ventura 13.5.1

Thanks in advance.

Hello @beachboy301! 👋
I'm sorry that copying and pasting a password from 1Password isn't working correctly on your Mac. Before we begin troubleshooting, please update to version 8.10.20: How to keep 1Password up to date
That being said, I can't reproduce the same issue on my own Mac, here's what I'm doing:
- I saved a Login item in 1Password with
^uR#64tYuvsP
as the password. - I hover over the password field in 1Password and click Copy.
- I open TextEdit and then press Command-V to paste.
- I see
^uR#64tYuvsP
in TextEdit.
If I misunderstood the issue then can you post steps that I can follow to reproduce the issue?
Can you also hover over the password field in 1Password, click the down arrow that appears, and then click Reveal. Do you see

Thanks for the fast response. Just updated to 8.10.20 and it appears to work just fine now. No I was copying from the MacOS app pasting directly into TextEdit as well so replicated steps exactly! Glad it is working now. -Don
