1Password icon disappeared from MacBook Air menu & now I get this error message...
..."You can’t open the application “1Password 8” because it may be damaged or incomplete." The Chrome extension and iPhone app work as always, but I like having the icon on my laptop menu. What's the problem and how can I resolve it?

Hello @securetm! 👋
I'm sorry that you're unable to open the 1Password app on your Mac. The steps below will get you up and running with the latest version of 1Password from our website (don't worry, your data is stored in a separate location and is safe):
- Quit all open web browsers.
- Open the main 1Password app. Right-click on the 1Password menubar icon and then click Quit. (If you don't see the menubar icon at all then skip this step.)
- Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not use an "app cleaner" or "uninstaller" tool to remove the app or additional files. If prompted, enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.
- Restart your Mac.
- Download the latest version of 1Password from the 1Password website.
- Quit any open web browsers and then install 1Password.
- Open and unlock 1Password before opening your web browser.
Let me know if you run into any issues or if the steps don't resolve the problem and I can help further. 🙂
-Dave
