ios 1P Safari autofill seems to always be unlocked?
Hi
When I go to login in on any particular website that I have an account for the autofill credentials seem to be unlocked, I just click the tab and it fills my login. There isn't any prompt to unlock 1password at all.
I use Face ID, when I go to the 1p app on my iPhone its locked and Face ID unlocks it.
Its just that with the safari autofill its like the 1p app is still unlocked?

Hello telUK! 👋
Thank you for the question! If you're using iOS AutoFill to fill login credentials then you'll always be prompted to unlock 1Password. If instead you're using 1Password for Safari then you'll be prompted to unlock according to your "Reauthorize After" setting. Descriptions of both iOS AutoFill and 1Password for Safari are here:
If you're using 1Password for Safari, and would like it to prompt you to unlock more often, then you can follow these steps:
- Open and unlock the main 1Password app from your home screen.
- Tap the icon for your account or collection at the top left and choose Settings. (If you’re using an iPad, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar.)
- Tap Safari Extension.
- Set the "Reauthorize After" value to the desired length of time.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the question! The (possibly) surprising answer is that I recommend that you keep both turned on.
1Password for Safari is the best way to fill and save logins in the browser on an iPhone or iPad. However, 1Password for Safari is only available for Safari so you'll want to keep iOS AutoFill enabled in order to fill and save logins in other iOS apps.

I have not really noticed if autofill using 1Password prompts face I.D. on every autofill.
I can tell you after deleting my browser cookies and then signing in to this discussion it did prompt face I.D..
On other websites maybe not.
That is a good question.
It is encrypted either way.

I sorta figured it out trying to understand it myself
That link above really is correct in how it works. So if I clear my cookies to be fair before trying a fresh autofill and then enter my curser in the username field I will not get a prompt for Face I.D. before actually seeing the username in autofill.
So I think that is what gives you the fell that it is not secure, but you are the only one seeing the username at that point, but immediately after the username is selected I get a prompt for Face I.D. before it is submitted.
So it is working accordingly.
Some websites might not support Face I.D.
or
Face I.D. may be setup on my iPhone, but not setup with the app or website settings for that signing totally.
I have reset my face I. D. and had to make three attempts to activate it with a website security area after dining in on some before Face I.D. is totally ready.
No biggie that’s what you have to do sometimes.
Just seeing your username is not the same as seeing the password and that shows only dots. You should be the only one seeing the username.
Try login in and when you see the username leave the login and go back to your 1Password and it will prompt the Face I.D. again if you have immediately set in 1Password settings other wise it may not.

I think I must have enabled them both by mistake, what method would you recommend?
