Apple Vision Pro options in the short-term — no two-factor authentication / security-key?
One can download the iPad App on the Vision Pro; but there's no way to plug in a USB-C/Lightning security-key.
Is there any way to use 1Password on the Vision Pro, right now, or am I screwed w.r.t. logging into anything that requires a passkey? (Not to mention laboriously typing all those 7-word passwords, piece by piece, from another device …)

Hello @ELLIOTTCABLE! 👋
Congratulations on receiving your Vision Pro, that's very exciting! As far as I'm aware, the Vision Pro doesn't support a way to use security keys but I don't have one myself so I can't confirm personally. I believe that you should still be able to use a TOTP authenticator app to add your 1Password account instead:
We're working on passkey unlock for 1Password accounts which will allow you to use a passkey, saved in iCloud Keychain, to add and unlock your 1Password account (currently in beta): Unlock 1Password with a passkey (beta)
I hope that helps!

Same thing here. Had to fully disable 2FA on my account, log in, and then re-set-up 2FA and all my security keys. bummer

Not entirely true. It looks like Apple keychain might support it? https://support.apple.com/en-jo/guide/apple-vision-pro/tan2b37eddc/visionos

I did indeed add an Authenticator App, make a TOTP for 1Password and...I kept that in 1Password. Then, on the Vision Pro, I was able to log my account in. It gave me a choice of security key or authenticator app, I chose the latter, typed in the 6 digit code, and it worked.
That avoids having to remove/reregister your physical security keys. I suspect once you're in, you can disable the Authenticator app.
1Password works pretty well; you can fill passwords, and options like choosing another password show up on the floating virtual keyboard. I had a few issues with the Optic ID leaving a blank popup window behind, but I think there are just a few little glitches in Vision OS yet.

Came here for the same issue. Kinda was bummed to find out there is no native support and no anticipation by having an FAQ ready. @Dave_1P, Apple is pushing to use their integrated password solution everywhere... I need an eco-system wide solution so eventually (sooner than later) will need to have 1password support the AVP too. Keep up the great work. Love 1P!

@mariohall and @fivetoedslothbear
Using a TOTP authenticator app does sound like the best option if you have two-factor authentication enabled for your 1Password account.
Thanks for the feedback. Can you tell me a little more about what you would like to see in a Vision Pro app if 1Password were to build one that isn't in the currently available app? I can pass along your thoughts to the team. 🙂

Dave, longtime 1P user and brand new AVP owner.
I have a ton of complex passwords that are native on my MBP and therefore encrypted. I can't log into certain websites using Safari on AVP without either an AVP Safari plug-in or an AVP 1P app where I can copy the password and then past it into the Safari login block.
You guys at 1P would make a dramatic improvement in my AVP usage if you could solve this in a simple, intuitive way, like you have done on my MBP. Otherwise I would be left with using Apple's Keychain, and not 1P.

Thank you for being part of 1Password! You can download and install the 1Password 8 for iPad app on your Vision Pro and use it in a special compatibility mode:
Once you've done that, you can fill save and fill logins into Safari and other apps using AutoFill: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad (The instruction will be a little different for the Vision Pro since the article is written for the iPhone and iPad.)
If you've already tried this and are running into issues, then can you tell me a little more about what it is that isn't working on your end? I look forward to hearing from you.
