What does “Items in wrong account” mean in Watchtower?
I'm currently using an individual account. There are no items listed there, but the category is confusing. There should be a better label, or some explanation, if this is relevant only to family/team/business accounts.

  • Hello @spinoza! 👋

Thank you for the question. If you have multiple accounts added to the 1Password for Mac app, 1Password will alert you when you save an item with a username that matches the email address of the other signed-in account.

Do you just have your individual account added to the 1Password app? Or do you also have other accounts added to the app?

@Dave_1P, I only have my individual account, along with one or two inactive legacy accounts (either team or business), which are not included in the 1Password app. This isn't a usability issue, as having that options in the dropdown menu doesn't cause any harm; it's just a bit confusing.

My suggestion is that coding to remove the extraneous choice might be more difficult and problematic than simply clarifying the wording to indicate it's only relevant to those with multiple active accounts.

On the other hand, a more powerful duplicate merging tool would be extremely useful and is much needed. I understand the concern regarding potential data loss or security compromises. However, I believe that thousands of 1Password users possess the competence to safely utilize such a tool and genuinely require it.
