iOS keeping suggests less used account

Hi,

I have two accounts for Microsoft, one starting with "l" and one starting with "w". The "w" one is the account I used as the main. When I log in with Safari on iOS, the suggested Autofill account(The blue-boxed one) always sticks to the "l" one, even when I add the "w" one to the favourite in 1Password.

The issue I met is quite similar to some previous posts, e.g.
https://1password.community/discussion/120999/old-user-name-still-presented-in-ios-login-suggestions

In their posts, their issues could be solved by adding the preferred account to the favourite in 1Password. Then, disable and enable AutoFill to reset the cache. However, after I tried those things, it's still not solved yet.

  • Hello @lqid1998! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! The threads that you linked to refer to an older version of 1Password and won't necessary apply to the latest version.

The suggestion in the blue button is rendered by iOS itself using its AutoFill feature, 1Password only provides the data for the experience. I'm not sure how much control we have over what suggestion is prioritized for the blue button since that is ultimately decided by iOS but I've passed this along so that our team can look into the possibility of ranking favourites higher than other items. For now you can set Password AutoFill to just suggest items from a collection that contains your most used items:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Tap the icon for your account or collection at the top left and choose Settings. (If you’re using an iPad, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar.)
    3. Tap on AutoFill.
    4. Change "Show filling suggestions from" to the desired collection.

If you need a login from another collection then you can tap the key icon above the keyboard and then select another collection in the 1Password window that opens. 🙂

    I hope that helps!

    Hello Dave,

Thank you for your reply. The solution you suggested works fine. By the way, I played with the blue button suggestion by iOS. It appears to follow the alphabet ordering and prioritise the first by its username. I added an "x" in the front of the one starting with "l", and then it started suggesting the "w" account. I hope this information can help your team in some ways.

    Regards

Thank you for sharing that finding, I've passed it along to the team. 🙂
