Edge Autofill Not Working
When filling in recurring information in normal text fields in Microsoft Edge, the auto-fill suggestions are no longer working. This is not related to password fields or personal information. This is just entering information in generic text fields.
Turning off the feature "offer to save and fill passwords" in the 1password extension on Microsoft Edge as suggested in the following post works.
This issues has only recently cropped up. Alas, I have no idea since which version of the 1password extension.
1Password Version: Not Provided
Extension Version: 2.25.1
OS Version: Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.4355)
Browser: Edge Ver. 125.0.2535.85 (Official B) 64-Bit

Hello @JohnKNess! 👋
Thank you for reaching out and for linking to that older forum thread. I'm sorry that you're unable to fill certain information in the Edge browser. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- Is the information that you're trying to fill saved in 1Password or in Microsoft Edge itself?
- Can you provide a screenshot of one of the fields that you were previously able to fill and now can't?
- Are you able to link to the webpage that contains this field?
I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Actually a recurring input value. Not a predefined set value from personal information.
Screenshot attached. Checkmk Administration interface for acknowledging error messages.
Checkmk in Edge without suggestions
Checkmk in Edge with 1passwrod Autofill suggestions turned offNo, it is an internal installation of checkmk (Monitoring Solution)

Thanks for the reply and for the screenshot. Do I understand correctly that the information that you're trying to fill is not saved in 1Password but that 1Password is somehow getting in the way?

Where is the information being filled from? From another app? From another browser extension? Or is the suggestion and filling being handled by the Checkmk web app itself?

Correct, the informatoin is not stored in 1Passwrod.
Yes, it seems that 1Password is somehow disturbing the input.
The information seems to be coming from Microsoft Edge (cache?).I have another similar situation where a pre-defined value that is actually stored in the Personal Info in Microsoft Edge, does not get recommended in a popup. When I turn 1Password autofill settings off, then it works again.

Hello @JohnKNess, thank you for your reply.
Are you looking to use Edge's autofill alongside 1Password? If so, here are the steps to enable Edge's autofill alongside 1Password in the browser:
- Right-click the 1Password icon in Edge's toolbar and select Settings.
- In the General section, turn off the Make 1Password the default password manager in this browser option.
- Paste
edge://wallet/settings
into Edge’s address bar and press the Enter key to enable the autofill option in Edge.
Additionally, I suggest turning off the autofill menu on field focus in 1Password in the browser. This will allow you to show/hide 1Password’s autofill menu manually as needed by clicking the 1Password icon within the field. Here’s how to turn that setting off:
- Right-click the 1Password icon in Edge's toolbar and select Settings.
- In the Autofill & save section, turn off the Show autofill suggestions when a form field is in focus option.
I hope this helps. I look forward to hearing back from you.
