  • Hello @GDX75, thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the trouble you're having with signing into Gmail.

Based on the information, you might be experiencing an issue with the new Autosubmit feature in the 1Password extension. With this issue, the extension clicks Forgot email? instead of the Next button. Let's try the following steps to turn off the Autosubmit feature:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and select the Settings option.
    3. In the Autofill & save section, turn of the Sign in automatically after autofill option.

After that, navigate to Gmail's sign-in page and use 1Password to Autofill.

Let me know how that goes.

The issue is not in 1Password it self.
but in Google login process, there is some new screen, where I would like to autofield using 1password info.
How to identify this info ?

  • @GDX75, thank you for the information.

1Password in the browser can Autofill the first and last name fields if you have an Identity item saved. Here's a screenshot for reference:

From the screenshots shared, the 1Password icon in the field appears closed. What happens when you click the 1Password icon in the field if you have an Identity item saved in 1Password?

I am also a francophone user and I have been facing the same issue when connecting to Youtube.
It seems to be caused by the new Google login page and a malfunction of 1Password in this new layout.

1Password currently clicks on "Adresse e-mail oubliée" instead of "Suivant". That explains the following questions you have to fill because it's for e-mail recovery.

If you fill in the information yourself, you will notice that the login pathway is the same as usual.

To 1Password: is an update expected so the autofill properly selects "Next" instead of "Forgot email"?
Is this issue language specific to francophone users, or it has also been reported by anglophone users?

Thanks for correcting this inconvenient problem.

  • Hello @Adder4. Thank you for your message.

Yes, you are correct. In my previous reply, there is a known issue with signing in to Google's French login page if the Autosubmit option is toggled on in 1Password in the browser; it clicks the "Adresse e-mail oubliée" instead of the "Suivant" button.

Our development team is aware of this behaviour for French and German Google login pages, and we hope to have a fix for it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I suggest temporarily turning off the Autosubmit feature. I realize that may not be ideal, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Let me know if you have any questions.

this issue also occurs on Google’s Finnish login page

  • Thank you for the report, @evwvznhd.

I can confirm the Autosubmit issue on Google's Sign-in page using different languages (including Finnish) is corrected using the Beta version of 1Password in the browser.

While I can't give an exact timeframe for when a fix will be available in the stable version, I recommend keeping 1Password up to date so that you can receive the fix as soon as possible, and updates will be posted on our website:

    I hope that helps.
