The 1Password for Windows installer does not install on Windows 11Pro on my Lenovo ThinkPad P16V

I have attempted to install 1Password 8 on my new Lenovo ThinkPad P16V with Windows 11 pro. It does not install. I saw other posts on this forum stating to start in safe mode with networking enabled. I have been able to restart in that mode after encountering errors with starting in SafeMode with only a PIN created to login to Windows 11, which is known problem. I added alternative means to login and was able to get to the c: prompt. I have no idea what to do after that to install the .exe file. Any help would be appreciated.

1Password Version: 8.10.36
Extension Version: 2.26.1
OS Version: Windows 11Pro

  • Hello @KDESROC! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when installing 1Password for Windows on your ThinkPad. Can you tell me a little more about what you're seeing when the installation fails?

For example, do you see an error message? Or does the installer just close without any errors?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi @Dave_1P

There is no error message. The installer just closes.

    Thanks

  • Hi @KDESROC! Could you email in to support+forum@1password.com with some logs from 1Password's installation directory so we can look into this further?

    1. Open the Start Menu, paste this code into the search field, and press Enter: %LOCALAPPDATA%\1Password
    2. Once you've navigated to this location, right-click the Logs folder, click Copy, and paste a copy of that folder onto your desktop.
    3. Right-click the folder on your desktop, click Send To, then Zipped folder.
    4. Attach this to your email to support.
