    Hia all,

same here, have 2 Macs, both Intel with Sonoma 14.5.
Macbook with touchID, works to unlock with watch, Macmini 2020 without touchID does not work anymore, (used to work without a hitch before) since a couple of days.
    Both on 1PW 8.10.36.
Cleaned up the installation, rebooted, reinstalled the app, no luck. Tried the recommended steps at the top of the threat, without luck either.
Needless to say that machine and watch were rebooted several times.

I have been having this issue with the latest version of 1Password for Mac 8.10.36 running on an iMac Pro with Sonoma 14.5. Every time I come back to my computer after the computer has been locked, 1Password is requiring me to enter my account password for both the browser extension and the 1Password app every time I enter a new session on my Mac (multiple times a day). I get the message: You need to enter your account password before you can use Apple watch unlock. I have an Apple Watch Series 9 running WatchOS 10.5.

I followed the steps earlier in this post and I the issue still persists.

I'm having this same problem. Both my Mac Mini and Macbook Air (running latest Sonoma; Watch running latest watchOS version) unlock fine with Watch. Latest version of 1Password 8.10.36 for macOS (81036049).

I've done the long procedure of disabling "Unlock with Apple Watch" both in 1Password and macOS, and can try again, but I'd like to hear about a root cause. On my MBA I can easily use the TouchID button to authenticate, but do not have a Magic Keyboard on my Mini (I use a Logitech MX Series keyboard instead); I don't have to, the Mini unlocks instantly with my Watch on my wrist.

  • Hello @serbans, @criss, and @Chromejob! 👋

I'm sorry that Apple Watch unlock isn't working to unlock 1Password on your Mac. It sounds like you might be running into an issue that our developers are investigating. So that I can confirm this, and offer any temporary workarounds that might exist for your specific situation, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Done: VPR-84936-788. Hope it helps. I can do so on my Mac Mini which may still be exhibiting the issue; let me know if the diagnostic report from that system will help.

    Thanks, Dave!

Hello, I've been having the same issue. Mac Mini M2 Pro with Sonoma 14.5 and 1Password for Mac 8.10.38 (81038013). My Apple Watch 3 (running WatchOS 8.8.1) is long in the tooth but still works for unlocking my Mac, unlocking Safari etc. Just not 1Password in recent times.

I submitted my diagnostic reports, ticket ID is GWP-58637-881

    Thank you!

  • Thanks @hgws
