Safari Extension not functioning
Greetings,
Mac is up to date. I removed and reloaded 1Password and extension. I've successfully logged into the 1Password App. when in Safari, I have the 1Password icon to the left of the search/address bar and the icon also appears in the user ID and Password fields on a trusted banking website...
When I click the icon in the User ID field on a trusted site, a black text bar appears and says "Unlock 1Password', clicking on it, and the 1Password icon, does nothing.
If I click on the icon next to the search bar, I get a pop-up that says "Open 1Password". However, clicking on the link does nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1Password Version: Mac 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: MacOS Monterey 12.7.6
Browser: Safari

It sounds like you're describing what occurs during an update of 1Password or an update of 1Password in the browser. During an update, the communication between the browser extensions and the app is severed by macOS. The following steps will restart that connection. Try the following and let us know if it helps.
- Fully quit 1Password.
- Fully quit your browser.
- Empty the trash to ensure that no previous copies of 1Password in the browser are present.
- Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password and unlock.
- Wait a few seconds and then open your browser.
- Check for proper operation.
Please let me know how you fare.

Tommy,
Appreciate the reply. Followed your instructions.
- Fully quit 1Password.
- Force Closed Safari.
- Waited... then fired up the 1Password app and logged in (no problem).
- Waited... then fired up Safari and went to trusted site to log in...
- No change to my situation.
Then I tried this...
- Fully quit 1Password.
- Force Closed Safari.
- Waited... then fired up Safari and went to trusted site to log in.
- Clicking in the log in field caused the icon beside the search/address bar to open with the "Open 1Password" clickable button.
- Clicked the button and got a pop up that said "1Password is trying to unlick the browser extension" and it asked me for my password.
- Entered the password and it appeared to accept it. (1Password app is now open in the tray).
- navigated back to trusted site and I'm back in the loop of none of the 1Password buttons in Safari doing anything.
Thanks for trying to help... any additional thoughts.

I'm sorry that things still aren't working. Make sure that app integration is turned on for 1Password in the app: 1Password for Mac desktop app > Settings > Browser > Connect with 1Password in the browser.
Then try the following:
- Open Safari.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" off.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" back on.
Then try to unlock 1Password for Safari again. If the same issue occurs then can you tell me if you see a green dot or a different colour dot under the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" setting in Safari?
