Hello,

I would like to request an option in the configuration to choose the preferred format for the date fields.

Thank you.

  • Hello @SpartakusMd! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! 1Password for Mac will use the date format that you've set for macOS to format date fields in the app: Change how dates, times, and more appear on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

Can you tell me a little more about the request? Is 1Password for Mac not respecting your system date format? Or would you like to set a date format in 1Password that is different from the date format set for macOS?

Hello @Dave_1P. It's not respecting the format from the system, it's displaying m/d/Y while in system I have d.m.Y. I changed it the system format to Y-m-d, but 1Password, after restart, shows the same m/d/Y format.

As best solution, I would prefer to have an option in settings to change to a format from a predefined list, with default based on the system one.

Thank you for the feedback. The team is working on a fix for an issue where the wrong date format is displayed in the app and I've added your report to the internal work item open for the issue.

While I can't make any promises, I've filed a feature request on your behalf. Thank you for the feedback! 🙂

    Hello,

I'm on windows but this problem with not respecting the system format has long been with me (for as long as I use the Windows 1password version). My system has the dd.mm.yyyy format in the settings but 1password just ignores it.

It wouldn't be a big deal but sometimes we do need to copy the date from the field because it speeds up the process when filling out various visa applications etc. Also, I would suggest adding an option to choose a delimiter - I don't know about the US and Canada, but in the many countries outside North America dates use "." as delimiter (e.g. 13.12.2024), not a slash.

If there is an immediate workaround (e.g. modifying some registry entries or something) I would appreciate it if you let me know. Otherwise, let's hope you'll fix that in the upcoming releases.

    Thank you.

Let me add to my comment above. I'm also a Mac user and I checked the date fields in my Mac version (and on my iPhone)- they seem to work ok and respect the system dates (and they even use the correct delimiter "."). So currently, for myself it is only the Windows version that has this issue.

Hello from Windows land. The Windows and Android apps also do not respect the system (YYYY-MM-DD) and just show MM/DD/YYYY (US). Windows date picker also does not have a YYYY toggle thus requiring a lot of clicking...
