I still have this problem although I am on 1Password 8.50 (iMac Intel i3; Sequoia 15.1), At startup as soon as 1Password appears on the Menu Bar (and icon jumping in dock), the Mac slows to a halt and the coloured wheel of death starts spinning for >3-5 mins. Right click on 1Password icon shows "app not responding". Nothing else will appear in Menu bar until 1Password finishes what ever it is doing. Force quit and restart 21Password will eventually work but whole process takes ~8-10 mins to get Mac started...!

    Any more info on this?

  • Hello @Brian_McCloskey! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password isn't loading correctly on your Mac. I've split your posts into a new thread since it sounds like you're running into a different issue than was was discussed in the old thread (that issue was fixed in version 8.10.46 and didn't involve the spinning rainbow wheel that you report seeing).

So that I can investigate the issue on your Mac further, can you tell me the following:

    1. When you restart or shutdown your Mac is the "Reopen windows when logging back in" turned off?
    2. Can you double-check to see whether 1Password is selected under "Open at Login" here: Open items automatically when you log in on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

If the answer to number 2 is yes then deselect 1Password under "Open at Login" and then restart your Mac. Do you still see the issue?

Thanks Dave. In answer to your questions:
    "Reopen windows..." is turned off
1Password is not listed under "Open at Login"

PS. I have tried unticking "Start at Login" in 1Password settings. When I do that, the computer starts faster but a) when I start 1Password manually, I still get the spinning wheel and "1Password not responding" message for a while and b) if I try to launch Safari before I have launched 1Password and waited for the spinning wheel to stop, Safari refuses to respond.
I'm guessing there may be a problem with the interaction between 1Password and the Safari 1Password extension - but that wouldn't explain the startup problems?
