Is there an easier way to clean up passwords

I do a search, see the dups, delete one of them, it pops up a message that it will be saved for 30 days, I have to click on that message EVERY TIME I delete a password.

Is there a way to pull up a spreadsheet like view to quickly clean up my passwords?

Any other suggestions on how to quickly clean up passwords and get rid of dups and older passwords?

The duplicate finder in Watchtower will only find exact duplicates, if the items are even a little bit different then they won't be detected as duplicates.

If you have items that are similar, but not exact duplicates, then you'll need to find those manually by using the search tool, move all relevant information to the item that you wish to keep, and then delete the other items: Search in the 1Password app to find what you need

You can view when an item was created by clicking on that item and then scrolling to the bottom of the item's details and expanding the section there:

Awesome tip however it does not explain how it is deciding which duplicate to keep and if they have to be exact duplicates. I might have five duplicate entries for google.com that are not exact duplicates, how do I find them.

  • Hello SteveU75! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! If the duplicate items are exactly the same and in the same vault then you can also use 1Password's Watchtower tool to clean them up:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
    2. Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
    3. Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.

You can read more about using Watchtower to find passwords that you need to change here. Let me know if that doesn't fit your needs. 🙂

Hello, try using the Security Audit section in 1Password — it lets you quickly spot duplicates or outdated passwords. Unfortunately, there’s no spreadsheet view, but you can export to CSV, clean it up in a spreadsheet, then re-import. It’s not perfect, but it might help!
