Hello, I’m having a problem where Touch ID isn’t appearing in Chrome. I have seen this problem mentioned before and have tried the suggested fixes, but nothing’s working.

  • The integration status in the extension says “connection problem” with a yellow circle
  • Turned off and back on “Connect with 1Password in the browser” in the app
  • Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and extension

Any solutions to this?

1Password Version: Mac 8.10.52
Extension Version: 8.10.52.25
OS Version: macOS 15.1
Browser: Chrome

  • Hello @Dharo! 👋

I'm sorry that Touch ID isn't working when you use 1Password in Chrome. It sounds like the communication between the desktop app and the Chrome extension isn't working. Try these steps in order:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
    2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Browser.
    5. Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is on. I know that you mentioned toggling this but I want to double-check that it is still on.

    Then in the browser:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" off.
    4. Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" back on.

If that still doesn't work and you still see a yellow dot I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (browser extension)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.
