Win 11 Desktop Hello Sign in problems
I used the windows hello sign in flawlessly for a while. Now after a Win update it wont work on my desktop, but works well on my laptops. The issue is that it will not let me enter digits. I close and get the full password sign-in. When I enter the pwd, the first character is capitalized. If I toggle the caps, it will work properly. The first character is a "1", it renders as a "!". If no one has encountered this, I will figure it out somehow, Its just strange. Login-in win with hello, I have no problems. It may be that the first character for the hello sign in for 1Pass is also set on Caps (just confirmed it)

Hello @BertSP! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into trouble when unlocking 1Password. I suspect that you might be running into a known issue that our team is currently investigating. Can you tell me, are you running into the issue when you enter your account password into the 1Password app itself? Or does it occur when you try to enter your Window Hello PIN into the Window Hello prompt when unlocking 1Password:
I look forward to hearing from you.

Actually both. I started systematically not being able to use the hello, it would not let me type the first number, so I would cancel out of that and the main password (Full) box would come up and give me lots of trouble also, I revealed the code and saw that the first digit was the wrong "uppercase version". I think now, if I press the Shift key once, it resets the to right case and I can type normally as if nothing was wrong. It is quite bizarre.

I'm actually having the same problem, and it started a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure of the exact date it started.
Whenever I use Windows Hello it jumbles all of my keyboard inputs, but not only in 1Password, but across the board. It's all caps, but also specials like "!,#, ¤", etc.. It persists in other apps, and the only fix for me is a complete restart. However, whenever I restart due to this problem, it always boots into the Windows Recovery Environment as if I was holding my shift key down. I've disabled Windows Hello for now and I've not run into the problem since.
I'm currently running:
1Password for Windows 8.10.54 (81054022)
Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26120.2510 with Feature Pack 1000.26100.39.00 -
So in my particular environment, I can confirm the if I press Shift key once before entering any 1Pass pwd it solves the problem. Hello works fine on initial windows login. It does this on my desktops and not on my laptops for some strange reason. All are Dell. as far as the Hello is concerned, whether I use the Num keys or top row is same behavior.

If you're seeing that issue in other apps, and not just 1Password, then that would suggest an issue with your device or Windows itself. I would recommend reaching out to Microsoft support or the manufacturer of your PC to have them investigate that further.
We're currently testing a fix for some Windows Hello entry issues in the latest nightly version of 1Password. Would you be willing to try the nightly to see if it resolves the issue for you?
- Open and unlock 1Password for Windows.
- Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
- Click Advanced.
- Change the release channel to "Nightly".
- Click About and then click Check for updates and follow the prompts to install the nightly and restart 1Password.
Let me know if you still see the issue with the nightly. If you're not interested in trying the nightly version than that's okay, let me know.

In my case I can also apparently solve this by pressing shift before entering my password for "Windows Hello" in 1Password. If I don't, it becomes as if I keep holding shift down. It only happens when I use windows hello for 1Password, and it persists throughout every application until I log off or restart my computer.
At first I tried different keyboards, thought that might be it. Then I tried rolling back to an earlier Windows build, but the problem persisted. I've built my own computer and keyboards.
Edit: I tried the nightly build, and the issue is solved.

Unfortunately, it does not. It is hit and miss, mostly miss. It effects both Win tray app and browser App (firefox) both Hello and full PWD. when it does not work (mostly) it does type first character as a Shift Char. In Hello, since the first Char is not a number, it types nothing. I signed out and back in as Win User. Pressing the Shft solution works. Somehow it starts with a invisible shift command. Well, Happy to report that the morning after, it works fine.

I'm also happy to report that I've yet to encounter the problems I was having previously after updating.
