What is the latest on using 1Password with the Android Bank of America App

I can find several older discussions about the Bank of America App (not webpage) on Android but I haven't seen anything that helps my current experience.

When I attempt to use 1Password to fill my login for the BofA app the username will populate from 1Password, but the password will not. I've tried various password keyboard manipulations and I can get the 1Password keyboard prompt to come up again when focused on the password field, but it still does not populate.

I would really like to generate a better password, but at this stage it must be a password I can remember and type.

If there's a squirrely setting on the phone that somehow disables that entry it sure would be nice to see the fix for it.

The Bank of America mobile app works fine for me. I can use either biometric login or
username/password login (with username and password filled in by 1Password).

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S21 running Android 14
    1Password version: 8.10.56

To enable biometric login after logging into app:

Menu -> Settings -> toggle Biometric Login

My Bank of America login item in my 1Password vault is linked to the Bank of America app.

My preferred autofill service is set to 1Password:

If you have a Samsung device running Android 14 or later, on your phone select
Settings -> Google -> All Services -> Autofill with Google -> Continue. This
takes you to a page to set your Preferred service for saving and entering passwords,
passkeys, and autofill information. Select 1Password as your preferred service.

If you do not have a Samsung phone, you can search for how to set preferred autofill
    service for your particular phone.

My autofill settings within the 1Password app:

    Autofill: enabled
    Show filling suggestions: disabled
    Show passkey suggestions: enabled
Display autofill prompts: Below the fields they relate to
    Copy One-Time Passwords: enabled
    Offer to save logins: enabled

I will have to go through all of those settings in detail just to make sure, but I believe 1Password is working with all of my other apps. It's only the BOA app I'm having problems with.

It might be the biometric part of the BOA app, though. I wouldn't necessarily have assumed that Biometric identity component of the app would interface with 1Password. I think I would have assume that it superseded 1Password.

I still need password access to BOA because I access it much more often from the web. That's where biometrics and passcodes "scare" me is in the mixed operating environment. Very few "keyed" identity tools like biometrics or passkeys do a good job of explaining how mixed environments work.

Mostly it looks like passkeys are being pushed because it offloads the liability for ID to the client's computer.

So I tried all of these settings. The only one I didn't have set this way was the BofA app Biometric setting.

Now 1Password doesn't get involved in the sign in. It just uses my fingerprint instead of my 1Password.

It also leaves my username visible which was not happening before.

The remember username is probably the key. With fingerprint turned off it still pre-populates the username, but now the password populates from 1Password.

So to make 1Password work with the app I have to lower the security by remembering my username. This means if I lose my phone an attacker already has one of the pieces of information.

Does anyone have 1Passworking fully with the BofA application without pre-populating the username?
